During the session, he shared insights into the strategic drivers behind such investments and how the group assesses the region’s long-term commercial potential.

Erwin Bamps, CEO of Gulf Craft, joined the opening panel at SEA Asia, Blue Capital: Investments in ASEAN Marinas and the Yachting Industry, at this year’s Southeast Asia Yachting Conference.
He shared his perspective on how the Southeast Asian buyer has fundamentally evolved, now entering the market with genuine knowledge, elevated expectations, and a lifestyle already built around boating.
Erwin emphasised that success in this region demands a diverse product strategy, because Southeast Asia is not one market, but many. And the broader panel agreed; the wealth is here, the cruising grounds are here, and the demand is here. What the region now needs is coordinated action across infrastructure, services, and regulation to match the moment.
